To mark the beginning of the season I decided to make Pumpkin with Pumpkin Spice Soap. I have waited for ages for the season to begin and I am super excited it is finally here!
Ingredients:
Melt and Pour Soap Soy 250grams
Pumpkin 50grams
Pumpkin Spice 5mls
Using some saved some pumpkin from my pumpkin and sweet potato curry, I cooked the pumpkin slowly with no liquid, adding pumpkin spice to flavour as well as have an aroma.
I used a melt and pour soy based soap mixture to make it easier to make. One day I will attempt to make my own brew of soap suds.
Find yourself a container which is squareish for the molding of your soap, I used a rectangle glass dish with added layers of paper parchment.
Begin by melting the soap mixture, once melted add the pumpkin and some extra pumpkin spice – ( available at www.pantryrefillcompany.co.uk ) Stir it all up and blend well.
Pour your mixture into your prepared dish and allow to cool for the day. Once cooled and dried, carefully pull the parchment paper out with the soap inside as in hammock way and allow the soap to rest.
Carefully cut into slices around 2cm wide for a good lump of soap to hold. Wrap each piece in tissue paper then wrap with twine and use a pumpkin labels as a tag. They are looking gorgeous and the kitchen smells amazing.
